Plotting a suitable ride route can be intimidating and time consuming, particularly if you are new to leading rides. For this reason Sheffield CTC are building a list of tried and tested routes that can be downloaded and used by any ride leader. If you use one of these routes you can be assured that it has been ridden before and ‘it works’ – if at all possible we suggest you ride it yourself first before leading a ride. This will give you more confidence, the opportunity to spot any changes to road layout and ensure you end up at your house (not the previous ride leader’s home!).
Note: For convenience the routes are listed in ascending order of distance. This does not necessarily correlate with difficulty. Although an easy ride will necessarily be short, not all the short rides below could be described as easy; some are quite hilly. Study the route profiles carefully before making a choice.
